Our fifth team to announce is our regional professionals, the Gold Team! This team is comprised of players who play regionally. These players are weekend warriors with other full-time jobs outside of disc golf. For many of our longer-tenured players, this is the top team for them to reach.

Separating our Core Team into multiple levels (Gold and Opto) will help us highlight this cool group of players even better in 2024.

Gold Team

Josiah Griffin

Josiah has been competing heavily in Colorado and the surrounding area. His success on the course in the 2023 season saw him be promoted from the Core Team (now Opto Team) to the Gold Team. We are excited to see how his elevated competition continues in 2024.

Favorite Disc: Pure

2024 Goals: To play at least 30 events (Most of which will be A/B tier). Get a nice rating bump. Over 985, at least!

Tournament Goals: Colorado State Championships

One Cool Thing:I am also a musician. Just as passionate about that if not more than disc golf.

Martin Spliid

Martin is one of the highest rated players in Denmark but that doesn’t stop him from helping grow the sport in other ways. He made waves in 2023 when he helped introduce disc golf in the country of Greenland.

Favorite Disc: Zero Medium Sinus

2024 Goals: Main goal: Become the Danish Champion for the 3rd Time

Tournament Goals: The Danish Championship and Kokkedal Open

Top Event to TD in 2024: Knæk Cancer (Fight Cancer) it is a fundraiser tournament to fight cancer I have run for many years funding more than 120.000 dkr.

One Cool Thing: Last off-season I was running a ski hotel in the Austrian alps for 4 months with my family.

Robert Lockwood

Robert has been holding down the MP40 division in the Pacific Northwest in 2023. He has been a rockstar on the west coast of the United States for Latitude 64 for a few years now and his continued dedication saw him elevated to the Gold Team for 2024.

Favorite Disc: XXX

2024 Goals: Would be nice to get back over 1000 rated.

Tournament Goals: North Umpqua Invitational

One Cool Thing: My name is Robert, but I go by Moe, short for Eskimo, being I’m from the north slope of Alaska and am inupiat. Got the nickname fighting fire something like 20 years ago.

Kevin Gleason

Kevin played just under 50 PDGA-sanctioned events in 2023, reaching the top five at all but five of them! His hustle and determination led to his promotion from the Core (what is now Opto Team) to the Gold Team for 2024.

Favorite Disc: Gold Line Ballista Pro

2024 Goals: I’d like to finish in the top 20 in the global masters. Get my rating up to 1000. Finish strong at US Masters.

Tournament Goals: U.S. Masters

One Cool Thing: I was introduced to Disc Golf at Camp Cheerio when I was about 10 years old. I’ve been playing for over 35 years.

Tyler Liebman

Tyler has been representing Team Latitude 64 in Colorado for quite some time. Even as his life has progressed outside of disc golf he has maintained a commitment to consistent tournament play in Colorado and across the region.

Favorite Disc: Rive

2024 Goals: Cash at every event I play and secure a couple of wins.

Tournament Goals: The next one! Which for me will be the Palisade Awakening.

One Cool Thing: The Opto-X Saint. They are not easy to find but it is one of the greatest discs ever made.

Olivia Kindstedt

Olivia had a strong showing in her native country of Finland this past year while competing on the Core Team (what is now the Opto Team). Her commitment to playing more tournaments in 2024 and her strong finishes in 2023 helped elevate her to the Gold Team. Be looking for her to make waves at some DGPT events in Europe this season!

Favorite Disc: Pure & Grace

2024 Goals: 1. Improve throwing distance 2. Win several competitions in and out of Finland 3. Podium place at the Finnish Championships 4. Possibly do my first US trip

Tournament Goals: I look forward to every DGPT Europe competition, especially Copenhagen and Krokhol Open!

One Cool Thing: I used to throw hammer, discus, and shot put, which gave me a good starting base alongside strength training for disc golf!

Justin Cournoyer

Justin competes in a region of the United States not typically known for disc golf, South Dakota. His continued representation in the professional division in the northern midwest had us renewing him for 2024.

Favorite Disc: Fuse

2024 Goals: Play in 20+ events for the season, get back into the 1000 rated club and keep introducing disc golf to newer players.

Tournament Goals: North Dakota and South Dakota states. They will both be A tiers this year.

One Cool Thing: I’m often called JC instead of Justin out on the course.
