The Memorial Championship
Sometimes things doesn’t turn out the way you’ve imagined. Disc Golf is no exception. After a very fine start for Team Latitude 64°, with three players tied for first place and many others in the top twenty after round 1, you could almost taste the excitement in the air. The subsequent rounds however saw many teammates fall off the pace, one by one and little by little, although some rays of light could be seen here and there, among them David Feldbergs 1073 rated second round. All in all this tournament could be summed up as a “what could have been” for many players.
In the MPO Ricky Wysocki started of with two solid rounds, but after a frustrating third round found himself well below the top echelons. He eventually got back a bit of rhythm in the fourth round and fought his way up to forth place overall. Bobby Musick played four solid rounds (with three of them above his rating) and finished tied for eleventh place with appetite for more. Great stuff. Another teammate that played above and beyond this weekend was Chandler Fry with the first three rounds above his rating, and finally tied for 17th place. Good to see. David Felberg also had something great going until the third round put a spoke or two in his wheels, ending the tournament tied for 20th. Devan Owens and Zack Johnson tied for 26th, both playing above their rating, and so did Emerson Keith who tied for 35th. A big shout out also goes to Teemu Nissinen who were one of the players tied for the lead after the first round, but fell back after some putting struggles in the latter rounds. In the FPO we saw Rebecca Cox grab 11th place after four solid rounds, all above her rating. Teammates Kristina Gold and Denise Cameron also saw action, finishing 18th and 26th respectively.
Only one Latitude 64° player stood victorious this weekend, and that was Alex Stoops who took home the W in the Advanced Division. A big congrats from all of us. See earlier Facebook post for more.
We want to thank all of our team players for an entertaining weekend, and the season is just getting started. On to the next!
